Recommendation Technology Act

As of 01.10.2023, amendments to the federal law on information protection regulating the use of recommendation technologies Recommendation Technology Act - (закон_о_рекомендательных_технологиях.pdf) - came into force.

1. Not to allow the use of recommendation technologies that violate the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and organisations, as well as not to allow the use of recommendation technologies to provide information in violation of the laws of the Russian Federation.
2. To place on its website or in an application the rules of application of recommendation technologies.
3. Ensure that users are informed about the use of recommendation technologies on the website or in the app.

Failure to fulfil the requirements will result in a ban on the use of recommendation technologies for the company. And if the ban is violated, the site or application will be blocked.

Place the following message on the site and application: “The information resource uses recommendation technologies. This message can be placed on any page of the site, including users' personal pages.

Place on the site and in the appendix the rules of applying recommendation technologies with a description of the algorithms used in them. The description of the algorithms of the enKod recommendation module can be found here. You can place a link to it on your site or application or write your own rules based on the mentioned article.
