SMS messages

To send SMS messages, you need to set up integration with your SMS provider, then create and send the message to the recipient segment

Integration with provider

The following SMS providers are currently available for integration:

To send SMS from enKod, you need to select a suitable provider, sign a contract and receive login details for your personal account. Connection instructions can be found in this section of the manual.

Creating and sending SMS

In order to create an SMS message go to the section MailingsMessagesNew message and select the SMS channel

Currently, you can create an instant, scheduled, regular SMS or API SMS.

In the creation wizard you can set the following settings:

You can change the SMS display view for iOS and Android, and by clicking on the SMS preview you can view its display inside the message section on your mobile device

To send a test SMS, click on the corresponding button and enter the phone number to which you want to send the test.

After creating the sms, select the recipients: include or exclude the segments you need from the mailing list.

When sending to a mailing group and a segment at the same time, the recipients are added up, but only unique contacts without duplication will be selected when recalculating and sending (if a recipient is in both a group and a segment - 1 contact will be found during recalculation and 1 message will be sent to him).

Length of SMS messages

SMS messages are charged based on their length. Messages can be in cyrillic (messages containing at least one non-latin character) or latin. Messages can consist of one or more parts.

Messages exceeding these values are split into parts (packets) that are reassembled by the mobile device upon receipt. If a message consists of more than one part, the following rules apply:

Please note that:

  • A message containing only latin letters and/or numbers and/or other permitted characters is considered latin. If there is at least one cyrillic character in an SMS, the entire message is considered cyrillic;
  • Spaces and punctuation marks are considered separate characters;
  • When generating dynamic content in a message (including tracking links), which occurs during sending, the number of characters in the SMS may increase, and it is not possible to calculate this in advance.

To check and calculate costs you can use any publicly available SMS character counter or refer to the data in the platform interface.

Using dynamic content in SMS

Just like in email messages, you can use DK methods in SMS to personalise content. To do this, select the required tag or function from the list. When you send the message, the generated information will be substituted in the SMS.

Please note that the character count does not take into account the DK functions, as it is not known in advance what information will be substituted after generation.

You can test the DC operation in the preview (button “Test”).

When applying DC methods that use links (for example, changing a data field by click or subscription with a redirect), it is necessary to use link shortening, otherwise the generation of such a message will cause an error.

Features of SMS mailings

If a link is added to a message, it can be automatically clicked by the recipient's application (Messages on Android, iMessage on iOS, Google Messages, etc.) to create an automatic preview of the received message. Typically, autoclicks are only observed if a number of conditions are simultaneously met:

In iOS, link preview is not available if more than 1 link has been added to the message and/or the sender is not listed in the recipient's contacts.

To avoid autoclicking on both Android and iOS you can:
