Image repository

In enKod an image repository is available, which can be used for downloading images from your computer and then using these images in emails. In addition, the repository includes all images that have been uploaded through the email layout archive.

The image storage is located in the settings.

Storage structure

The repository is a catalogue with the ability to create folders in the root section - use these to separate images in relation to emails or image categories.

The following features of the repository can be emphasised:

  • The tree structure of the catalogue provides nesting up to the second level
  • The root catalogue is named “Catalog” and cannot be changed or deleted.
  • Ability to create/delete folders, as well as edit folder names
  • Ability to upload/delete images, as well as edit image names

Folders

The structure of all created folders is displayed as a tree on the right side. A new folder is created via plus inside the folder where the folder creation button was pressed. Folders in the storage cannot be moved or copied. The folder displays the number of images that are loaded into it, as well as the weight of each folder.

Uploading images

Images are uploaded to the folder where the upload button was clicked. You can upload several images at once. Images in .png, .jpg and .gif formats are available for uploading. Images up to 30Mb in size can be uploaded.

Please note the following points:

  • Image titles must be in Latin and contain only the characters - or _
  • Image names must not be duplicated within the same directory

Folder and image properties

The image name is available by clicking on the image name:

  • Viewing and changing the image name
  • Deleting an image
  • Copying a link to an image

Hover over a folder in the list on the right to open additional tools. In “Folder Properties” you can change its name or delete it.

Searching for images

The search is based on the directory you are in, i.e. within all subfolders in the current folder and the images in them, but without directories a level above.

Changing folder and image names

In emails, images are accessed via a link that is generated when images are uploaded to the repository. The link contains the image path (folder names) as well as the name of the uploaded image itself. Therefore, if after uploading you change the name of the image or folder, but do not change the link in the layout to a new one, the image will stop being displayed in the message.

Deleting folders and images

Deleting images may be necessary when you run out of storage space. You can delete individual images, folders, or you can clear the entire repository. When you delete images, they will no longer appear in your messages.

Downloading an archive and the images in it

All images that are in the HTML archive will be uploaded to the repository. A different folder will be created for each post, which will contain the post id in the title. If you do not save the post after uploading, the images will be deleted. A different folder with images will be created for each split test version.

Storage capacity limit

On the free plan, 1GB is available for uploading images. You can delete folders with images from messages that were sent a long time ago or increase the storage capacity (inform your manager about your wish).
