Product Feed

You can set up the product feed upload in the Imports section.

Product feed should be in YML format (or archive with YML file) and correspond to the documentation.

Import parameters

Fill in

  • import name
  • URL
  • login and password to access the feed file (if necessary)

Setting parameters

At the next step, you should match the parameters from the product feed with their values (the list of such mandatory parameters will be displayed on the screen). This is necessary for the correct work of the recommendations module.

Mandatory parameters:

  • Name
  • Price
  • Category ID
  • Link to image
  • Link to the product on the site
  • Product ID

In addition, you can set appropriate names for any of the parameters in your catalogue so that they will be displayed in a clear form in the recommendation settings (otherwise, the names will be displayed in Latin characters according to the fid). You can customise the names for any parameters other than the mandatory ones via the “Add Parameter” button. You cannot give the same name to two different parameters to avoid confusion.

Import frequency

In the last step, select one of the two options to start importing items:

  • by API (by request from an external service)
  • sending frequency (specify the schedule for updating the feed)

To keep the feed up to date, we recommend updating it at least once a day.

Import history

You can view the history of auto import of goods in the enKod » Imports » Auto Imports section by clicking on the “Open History” button.

The window displays the last 4 auto import processes of the product catalogue with details:

  • New items - number of items that were not in the feed in enKod, but they were in the feed by link at the time of the import
  • Existing products updated - number of products that were in the feed in enKod and in the link feed.
  • Existing items deleted - number of items that were in enKod feed but not found in the link feed at the time of import.
  • Strings with error - invalid strings that do not comply with the rules of product catalogue design

Possible errors of importing the product catalogue:

  • Import failed - login or password is invalid, file not found, server connection breakdown and other malfunctions
  • Import with errors - import completed, but invalid rows in the last import were more than 10%.

If we get an error when trying to upload a file (login/password invalid, file not found, server not responding, etc.) - then we try to upload it 2 more times, following the schedule (we make three attempts in total). After three attempts have failed - change the status of auto-import to “Import failed” and stop it.

If auto-import took longer than the time set in the settings of import frequency (the schedule is every 15 minutes, but the import itself took 20 minutes), we automatically increase it (15 minutes is changed to 30 minutes). In this case in the history of auto-import we will see a notification “Import frequency was automatically decreased. The time of the last import was exceeded”. In the auto-import settings the frequency is changed to the one that will satisfy the import duration. If the feed becomes shorter or the upload can be accelerated in some other way, you can change the frequency in the auto-import edit if necessary.

Actions on import

  • Edit - go to auto import settings
  • Pause/Start - end the current auto import, pause subsequent attempts until manual start
  • Forced start - allowed only for active auto import, which is not running at the moment, as well as for import on pause (inactive). After forced start of an auto import that was paused and its completion, it is paused again, the schedule is not changed.
  • Deleting - forced termination/interruption of the current auto import (if started) + its deletion
