General information on imports
Importing is an important process in data management that allows you to efficiently transfer and integrate data from one system to another. Depending on the type of data and the purpose of the import, there are several types of this process:
- importing contacts
- import into data tables
- products import.
Each of these types has its own peculiarities and requirements that must be taken into account.
Contact import allows you to transfer information about customers to enKod: their contact details (emails, phone numbers, custom Id) and additional information (location, gender, age and more). Import to data tables is used to store temporary or less important data about contacts, as well as information about orders, events, etc. Products import is necessary for feed management, which is relevant for using trigger mechanics related to events on the site.
Data import can be done either manually or automatically. Manual import requires your direct participation and allows you to control every step of the process. Automatic import, on the other hand, is performed without user involvement (set up once) and allows you to process large amounts of data quickly and efficiently, which is especially important for regular and repetitive tasks.
